NO BULLSHIT - NO LIES ANGER & PAIN - BUT NO BACKING DOWN D-BEAT CRUST NOISE LIFE New recording eventually completed and will be released soon. It will be a split with T.R.I.B.E. - see news Late 2003 - four old punks, band-less for the first time in years. Neil and Brian had been playing in Glasgow-based DEBRIS while Andy and Stick had been playing in Yorkshire-based THE DEVILS, but both bands were now defunct. At a gig in Glasgow, in a drunken rage filled desire for noise destruction, Neil pinned Andy to the wall by the throat and demanded the instant formation of a new politically-driven band with himself and Brian.... After a hasty agreement, and larynx intact, Andy agreed and a conversation was had about what style of music to play. It was decided that, after years of dabbling in various 'styles' of punk with other bands, the preferred option was to go back to basics, back to our fuckin' roots, and play some straight-forward old fashioned d-beat hard core punk. The problem of a drummer was solved by Andy draggin' up the name of that old veteran Stick (renowned for his 'upper echelon' exploits with various other d-beat bands). Stick enthusiastically agreed ( being always quick to latch on to a 'good thing' when he spotted one). We got together, and like the sound of two enormous steel doors being shattered in the depths of Glasgow and Yorkshire we broke free once again and battered out a set of d-beat fuckin' hardcore punk ... RUIN was spat out bleeding. Gigs have been infrequent over the past few year ... caused mainly by the distance between the two halves of the band but also by other commitments. However, we are definitely into playing gigs so if you'd like us to come and unleash our unholy racket on your town, please do get in touch. If we can do a gig, we usually will but, if we can't, we'll simply politely decline your offer. We still give a fuck.
